This first-ever online database of dog kennel, shelter and pet shop inspections was compiled by The Morning Call. It includes 20,000 inspections conducted by dog wardens from the state Department of Agriculture from 2003 through 2006.

Breeders who have more than 25 dogs a year, all boarding kennels, and non-profit groups such as shelters and rescue organizations must be licensed and inspected by the state.
